One thing that we often hear from parents is that the IEP and evaluation process in special education confuses them. This isn’t surprising as it is a convoluted process that requires the cooperation of many individuals. So to help with the confusion we thought we would add some resources here.  One caveat is that we have the perspective from the guidelines set forth in the state of Minnesota, USA. The United States federal government created the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and it is up to each state to interpret the laws within this.

We are passionate about advocacy and the ability of families to advocate for their children. Our goal is to provide details but to be general enough that the information is relevant regardless of where you live within the United States. If you live in other parts of the world this information may not be as relevant however everything else on our site will be of benefit to you as accessibility for individuals with disabilities is global.
